You've never seen the advertisements on the sides of Facebook pages? Plus IIRC to use their "facebook marketplace" you have to pay. Also if you play their games, if you want to get coins for say, Farmville, you have an option to pay for it. |

They are billionaires on paper based upon the stock they hold in the company. Even though the company isn't publicly traded there is a per share value assigned to each share based on their most recent round of funding and on trading in the secondary market. That trading and funding gives Facebook a valuation of around $75B at the moment. Facebook's revenue is estimated at $2B/year at the moment (from advertising and game credits) and some people are projecting it to grow to $25B in a few years (assuming it doesn't go myspace and get overtaken by the next social media trend) |

Only crap to click on to "find" more of my friends. Maybe I don't visit enough to get ads. |

They're only internet millionaires. Like Star Wars Kid or the Chocolate Rain guy. Mark Zuckerberg drives an Acura TSX. Not a very expensive car. Either he doesn't make a lot of money, or he's a very thrifty rich dude. Very thrifty, he lives in a 4 bedroom house close to work. IIRC |
