In an nutshell, are they decent? Im thinking theres got to be a reason why they quoted me half of what Im paying through 21st. We had them when they were AIG, then they became 21st, but still a part of AIG. But eventually they got sold. The pricks kept upping our rates a little every 6 months, when I finally took a look its went up about 114 bucks every term. Which is 6 months, when I called they told me it was statewide.

No complaints. I switched from farmers about 4 years ago. Monthly premiums went from $196 at Farmers to $112 at Esurnace. Coverage is $250,000/$500,000 with a $1,000 deductable. Customer service is good. I had an accident and they were quick to pay out and had a dedicated claims person who would get back to me within a day if I called. Esurance is GTG in my book. Saved me a lot of money and have good service.

I had esurance for a year.  After the first year, they jacked my rates almost double.   When I called and asked WTF, they said a guy my age who hasn't had an accident yet is a higher risk, because "I'm due for a wreck" (I'm paraphrasing, but that was the gist of it - I was about 31 BTW).  I switched to GEICO and got slightly lower rates than I started with Esurance.  Been with them for 2 or 3 years.

Esuarance raised my rate about 50% after 6 months and then did it again after 6 more months.  They said it was administrative cost increases.  I have never had a ticket or accident.

I had a problem with state farm, and wound up switching to esurance on my car.  So far, good service, and a touch cheaper than SF.

Well atleast if they do one big jump I can switch before the next renewal. Ours just kept creeping up little here and a little more there.

Like others stated, they were cheap and then they started jacking up the rates. Never had an accident or violation during the 4+ years I had them. Finally switched to another company that gave me a similar rate that I originally had with esurance.

I have to admit, doing everything online with them was pretty handy.

Insurance of last resort for people to broke to get decent coverage, but need something to get the tags renewed.

Maybe you get into a lot of accidents, or love to piss away your money. I dont.

Yep.

I have had State Farm for the 11 total years I have been driving. I had one ticket, and an accident that was not my fault. They've never jacked up my rates and have treated me very well.
