Watching it again, it seems to me an anti-liberal movie. I looked for lib signs, but didn't see them. I get the power to the people vibe, but against a corrupt government. Maybe that's why it didn't do well in theatres.

Equilibrium was an unabashed copycat, and the ratings/box office proceeds showed it. I'm not saying it's a bad movie, I'm saying it was a "Matrix Ripoff" and that's why it did poorly in the theatres. And seriously? It's not a movie plot. At best, it's a single-A video game plot. |

I think if they had released it months sooner or months later it would have done better but I'm with you, the movie was awesome. My step brother convinced me to watch it and I'm glad I did. |

The plot may not have been complex, but it's there. All movies don't have to make you think. It was a great action movie that made you think just a little. |
