Since we've already met there twice before, I think we should continue the tradition.

hound and Psyren know where it's at, as does Arock, Energizer, frisco and a raft of others.

I will, however, already be at the Farm on Thursday, so I will be unable to join your little caravan.

The Rendezvous Point to hook up with the caravan from Fort Worth, was the Rest Stop on Hwy 287, just three miles North of Decatur.

Y'all boyz get it together!

Don't make us have to send out search parties for you!

Rally Point Plano works for me. 0900 Friday morning? Repeat the intersection.

Gotta get the truck checked out this week. Think it needs a fresh balance job on all four corners.

The rear seat is coming out and my plan is to sleep in the truck this time to keep from driving so much. Can I share/borrow cooking gear with someone? I can bring plenty of PROPANE BOTTLES!! Heh, heh...

I'm packing the weber smoker, and probably a propane stove...your more than welcome to jump in on the BTU's.

I was thinking that briskets just take too long to cook, so maybe babybacks...they only take 3-4 hours...I have plenty of room in the smoker if you have other ideas.

Looking for a Decatur hook-up this time. Anyone else going to be there?

I may need a ride-- my Jeep's tire has a large chunk of metal hanging out of it, and the tires are special-order and take a while to get here!!! (and very expensive)

Still need a tent (may get a hotel room instead).

But would you really want to "waste" your propane bottles on cooking food??? when you can have much more fun blowing them up???

I've got room for the gear in the back of my truck.  Just be careful it's not something that will blow out or pack it with ammo![:d]

How about a leaving time...say everybody be there at 9:00, we leave at 9:15.

What about a time at the rest stop?

ETH--how long does it take to get there?  I assume you go 121 or GB to 35 to 380?

Just called the Goodyear store-- they are trying to locate some tires for me...

They say they will probably have to be special ordered like last time. (assuming they have them available)

Yep, you go Hwy 121 over to I-35 North to Denton, about four miles North of Denton, take Hwy 380 West over to Decatur, then go North on US Hwy 287!

It takes about 3.5 hours.

3.0 hours, if I was leading the caravan! [:D]

Ok, unless anybody has any other suggestions, how about we do this:

Dallas caravan meets at coit & spring creek at 9:00 AM.  We pull-out of the parking lot at 9:15 AM sharp.

It will take about 1 to 1 1/4 hours to get to the Decauter rest stop.  The rest stop is just north of the 380 bypass on US 287/81.

Ft. Worth crew meets at the rest stop at 10:15. We all leave at 10:30 AM sharp for the farm.

Try to gas up before we meet so we can go straight through.  We can probably stop in Vernon for lunch then on to Crowell.

Bring the FRS radios tuned to channel 2 (sub-channel 0 if you have them).  If you have extras, bring those as well for the cars that don't have one.

If anybody has any other suggestions, fire away.

Edited to add:

I have now secured a two burner Coleman camp stove.  If you want Coffee or hot choclate, bring your own mix/cups and I'll supply the hotwater.  Any other "special" requirements are the responsiblity each person.  I just supply the BTU's.

To get to Grandma's Place for lunch, which, I assume you mean Down Home Bakery, just remember to stay on Hwy 287 through Vernon and do not take the Hwy 70 exit to Crowell, but continue on to Chillicothe, another 11 miles on Hwy 287.

Just as you get into Chillicothe, on the South side of Hwy 287, on the left, is the Down Home Bakery, with the large screened-in front porch.

It is open 5:00 AM to 2:00 PM daily. Great breakfasts and lunches, as anyone who's been to the Hun Farm can swear to.

I will be there Friday morning for breakfast around 7:30 - 8:00. Maybe them Allen Brothers will meet me there?

Otherwise, I will see you men 'on the beach.'

I'll be leaving for the Farm in just a few....

Make certain you guys keep together, in case someone has car trouble.

Drive carefully and (since I'm not there to lead you) safely. [:D]
