Noveske Rifleworks was the company that produced them. They have since ceased production and no longer offer that item. The only ones on the market are in private hands, so if you want one you'll have to browse the equipment exchange or the various online gun auction websites.
Edit- Here's the original thread on the dust cover: http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=1&f=5&t=799015&page=1 |

Couldn't you take a plain dust cover to a trophy shop and have them engrave it? That would be an interesting inquiry. "Durka Durka Trophy Shop, who may I help you?" "Yes, I was wondering how much you charge to engrave Surprise Cock Fag on a gun part?" "................" |

Couldn't you take a plain dust cover to a trophy shop and have them engrave it? No wai! Side note - we took my brother-in-law shooting last weekend and he had never fired a gun before. I gave him a brick of .22 and my Henry H001 and let him have about three hours to do his thing while I got some free pistol practice in. Before we left, I let him run a few dozen rounds through my AR. After I showed him how to load and charge it (just like in the video games...) he asks what the dust cover is for. I said, oh, it's just to keep debris out of the rifle while you're not shooting it. He asks if he should close it. I said, you can, but it'll just open back up again once you fire. He thought that was the coolest thing ever and would close the dust cover between every shot just so it popped back open again.
Another lulz moment: I asked him how he liked the rifle and he said it's really great, but the safety is so hard to reach. I said, "Umm, you just flick it with your thumb." Then he tried it and went, "oooOOOOOHhhhh!" He had been reaching around with his right forefinger to put the safety on and off.
At least he knows how to shoot now. Maybe we'll work on pistols next time. |
