A freind of mine got me two cans of Dry Graphite Lube which is rated for 850F and short periods of 1,100F.  What parts if any of an AR/rifle or pistol can this stuff be used on safely?

Short answer, no, you shouldnt. Some type of galvanic reaction can occur.

Some guys would say not to but I've refinished mags with it.

graphite reacts with the aluminum in an AR and corrodes it.  It's fine for use with guns that are steel or steel/plastic.
