Howdy everyone,
I have a quick question for you. How do you change the basic background setup on the droid x? I am not talking about just the background as I know how to do that but on my old eris you could select between 5 or so different configurations for background setups. One was social, one was work etc etc. thanks |

Really?
I guess I figured you could because my eris allowed you too. It was kind of a nice feature so you didnt have to completely delete and redo each screen. They had presets built in that could could choose from and make it easier to customize. Thanks for the reply. |

I down sized mine to only three screens again. Games, normal screen, news/social media. I like it simpler for one.
I'm on this phone pretty much nonstop, and I only use three home screens. Granted,i don't do MyFace and twater, but what the hell do you need five to seven home screens for? I got one each for home stuff, work stuff and fun stuff, don't make it more complicated than it needs to be. |

My Droid 2 has 7 desktops, one of which is Home. This should be the same on the Droid X. You set up the icons on each desktop like Windows. ADW Launcher gives you more options. Many of the programs that are used vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. HTC has its own things, Motorola has its own apps like BLUR (scaled down for the Droid 2 and Droid X) and social feeds, and I am sure the other OEMs have their own apps as well. Google's Android is the fundamental operating system, and there are plenty of Android apps built-in - but I think the Eris might have some items the OP wants on his Droid X. |

Go slow and don't be frustrated. Give it a solid week up to a month to get acclimated. It's not hard/difficult, it is just getting used to the interface. Remember that most apps allow you to go into Settings with that special menu button. I was frustrated with my Droid 2 back in September. I can glide through everything now. I also updated Google Maps to the latest version and it even keeps maps in cache just in case your 3G goes offline while on the road. Been there, done that! LOL |
