Occasionally, when I accidentially fat finger something, a transparent amber box gets placed over the object I touched.  I presume this is a resize feature since that's all I can do with that object when covered with the amber overlay.  However, I can't get that feature to go away.  I have to hit back.  I assume you could resize it, then somehow complete the resize, and move on...

I hope I've explained this correctly....

What gives?

I'm on my second droid, this one the X. I get a pop up white screen, is that what you are talking about?

On the home screen, or in an app?

I'm on an X as well.  It's clearly an amber overlay that allows resizing.  Specifically, it happens with the google search shortcut that's on my home page.

It's widget resizing.  Comes in handy.

How do you get rid of the amber overlay once you're done resizing?

Depending if you're on the stock launcher or not.  Just tap the screen outside the amber rectangle...or just hit the escape/return button on the bottom.  I"m on the Droid X as well.  Use ADW as my launcher.

Is this in a text box, the web browser, the home screen? Also, what UI are you using?

My home screen.  Everything is pretty much stock.  The back buttton works, and I just discovered that it's not a classical 'back' button as any changes stick.

I'm not an advanced educated user yet...

Let me know any other questions.  Have had droids a while now...pretty familiar with them.

The stock X home screen gives you the "Dialer button on the one side...and the contacts on the other.  ADW gives you 4 buttons on the bottom of your screen plus the menu in the middle.  Right now, I have it setup so that on the bottom, I can launch Gmail/Google Voice/Messages/Dialer.  It's just handier having those options.  let me get a screen shot....
