I'm just curious because they are one of my favorite bands. A lot of my close friends like them, but they're still not "mainstream" by any means. What are your favorite lyrics, songs, albums?

 MM has only received mainstream recognition with their last two albums, which are not even their better releases. In the sense of their music as a whole, they are rather unappreciated and not mainstream. This was what I meant by that comment. |

You either love 'em or hate 'em.I thought they were catchy to begin with, but, like all new bands, they showed up on MTV, VH1, overplayed on the radio, and became tacky teen heart throbs. I tend to stay away from all forms of commercialized music. I personally think that no matter the resolve of the band, eventually, and without exception, it loses its heart and creativity. To each his own though. 
ETA: FOr example, I am a HUGE Sublime fan, and absolutely refuse to listen to their self-titled album. It is the result of the above mentioned problems. |
