I do. One of the reasons I have been staying clean-shaven lately. I think I'll let a little "winter fur" grow but maybe it'll actually look more "distinguished"––-yeah, that's it!

FWIW I'm 44yo and can't grow a real beard anyway, like some of you hairy bastards have been able to do since middle school. When I try I look like a poster child for radiation therapy. Just call me "Patches".

My gray is just starting. It's all in my beard, none in my hair.
Link Posted: 12/20/2009 10:15:59 AM EDT
I did...not so much anymore.

I'm 29 and I have a ton of grey hair.  I started the winter beard about a month ago and wow, it's there too.  I don't care though.

ETA:  I heard on NPR the other day about how younger guys are actually dyeing their hair grey to look more distinguished or some such shit.  I was like,"You have got to be kidding, fucking life experience and genes did it to me."

50/50ish
Link Posted: 12/20/2009 10:25:37 AM EDT
My beard is blonde on my chin the rest is very dark brown.
Link Posted: 12/20/2009 10:27:32 AM EDT
Em...Isn't your face on your head?
Link Posted: 12/20/2009 10:27:49 AM EDT
Yes, I have more facial hair than hair on my head
Link Posted: 12/20/2009 10:28:13 AM EDT
I have silver highlights in my beard.
Link Posted: 12/20/2009 10:28:44 AM EDT

Beard is almost all gray/silver except for streaks of black/brown in the chin and mustache.  Gray is creeping up the sideburns but hasn't encroached *too* far on top.... YET!

I'm in "winter shag" mode.  Just trim the beard down slightly when it gets too rough.  Haven't had a haircut since my last buzz job back in May.

Dark hair.... grey beard
Link Posted: 12/20/2009 10:29:17 AM EDT
Yes,,,, My hair is probably 50/50 gray.
My beard is probably 90% gray.
Almost to the half-century mark.

You are of course assuming that there is hair on the head.
Link Posted: 12/20/2009 10:46:44 AM EDT
Yes

My beard/mustache/sideburns are mostly white now...hair on my head is turning gray above the ears ,most of my natural brown is now faded a lot.
I 've had a beard CONTINUOUSLY for about 40 years.........
Link Posted: 12/20/2009 10:52:59 AM EDT
I'm 39 and have a little grey in the sideburninal area and more in the chin/stashitude.
Link Posted: 12/20/2009 10:54:05 AM EDT
Not only is the beard grayer then my head, it has more hair too.....
Link Posted: 12/20/2009 10:55:21 AM EDT
It's more white than gray I'd say. Just a few stragglers here and there for now.
Link Posted: 12/20/2009 10:56:58 AM EDT
In my case, I think that the question should be: Is there more facial hair than on your head?
Yes.
Link Posted: 12/20/2009 10:58:05 AM EDT
no.... I'm 24.

But I feel like Obama is going to give me gray hair...
Link Posted: 12/20/2009 11:00:15 AM EDT
I had a 'stache for almost 31 years. Shaved it off last April because there was no color left to it only gray. Some gray in the hair, but not as much as the facial hair. FWIW im 52.
Link Posted: 12/20/2009 11:01:23 AM EDT
yep
Link Posted: 12/20/2009 11:02:38 AM EDT
50, beard, bald head, so the answer is easy.

Of course I do.
Link Posted: 12/20/2009 11:08:37 AM EDT
Little to no gray on the top.

About 40% gray in the beard.
Link Posted: 12/20/2009 11:13:08 AM EDT

Yes.

Link Posted: 12/20/2009 11:16:49 AM EDT
Yep. Chin hair has been getting grayer & grayer over the pat few years. Now starting to see some in my side burns and creeping into my head hair.  I just turned 39, so I suppose it's time for it.
Link Posted: 12/20/2009 11:20:36 AM EDT
I have two patches of gray in my goatee.  I have a few starnds of gray hair in my head, but barely noticeable.  I use Just For men on the beard and don't look back.
Link Posted: 12/20/2009 11:23:04 AM EDT
56,gray beard, bald head im lovin it.
Link Posted: 12/20/2009 11:23:11 AM EDT
Yes. Into my mid 30's, my mustache was pure grey, while the rest of my hair would only have the occasional grey hair. It put at least 10 years on me.  I had a mustache ever since I was 15, but when it got to that point, it was time for it to come off.
Link Posted: 12/20/2009 11:29:32 AM EDT
Yes
Link Posted: 12/20/2009 11:32:38 AM EDT
My facial hair has a shitton of red in it, and I have dark, dark brown hair.

Always makes me go when I wake up and look in the mirror

36, patch of grey on my chin, only a couple of grey hairs on my head.

Link Posted: 12/20/2009 12:22:14 PM EDT
No, but I have dark hair (almost black) on my head, but my beard naturally grows firey red colored.

Go-tee is white, very little grey on the head ( a little on the side is beginning to show).

When I feel the need to look 20 years younger, I shave.

Doesn't happen too often, everyone knows I'm 30 w/20+ years experience

ETA: I got carded to buy cigars the other day cuz I didn't look 40.
Link Posted: 12/20/2009 12:28:45 PM EDT
I found a grey hair in my nose the other day.

Link Posted: 12/20/2009 12:38:56 PM EDT
yep

There has got to be some pseudo-scientific reason for this phenomena. Look how many of you this is the case with.

Also, you guys with dark hair and red facial hair. Freaks.......
Link Posted: 12/20/2009 4:44:53 PM EDT
Hey man,  I look like patches too when I grow my scruffy looking beard.  I'm 34 and anytime I haven't shaved in a few days, people always ask me "Why do you shave your beard like that?"  I always say "Look closer, the hair is white!"  It really looks weird, so I try to keep as clean shaven as possible.  The hair on my head is dark brown with veeeerrryyyy slight gray hairs coming in.  Its pathetic.

Salt n' peppa in the beard!
Link Posted: 12/20/2009 4:56:33 PM EDT
Lotta salt on my chin nothing on my head.
Link Posted: 12/20/2009 4:58:11 PM EDT
Yes. My whiskers are snow white, but I still have light brown hair with just a hint of grey. ( I'm 51 )
