Washington-AP) -- Transportation Secretary Norman Mineta says a study will be done on why many African Americans don't use seat belts. State Farm Insurance and the Meharry Medical College of Nashville, Tennessee, are coordinating the five-year study to find out why African-Americans are less likely to use belts, and design a campaign to correct the problem. Meharry president John Maupin says 25 African Americans die needlessly each week because seat belts aren't used. State Farm spokesman Clayton Adams says crashes are the number-two cause of death for African American youth. Mineta says that in the post-September eleventh uncertainty, people should remember they have control over effective safety measures.

Point is, do we really need to spend hard working tax payer money on another worthless study?

Don't you want to find out if we can save some lives?
The answer might even be easy to implement and/or inexpensive.  Who knows?
You DO think saving lives is important, don't you?

So you feel we need to spend taxpayer money to tell people to"buckle up"? Do you have any other idea's to waste taxpayer money???

Government studies are worthless.  Why don't the wear them?  Because they don't want to.  It's just that simple.  Start writing more tickets and be done with it.  I've said it before, and I'll say it again.  Stupidity should be self correcting.  If you're stupid enough not to wear your seat belt, regardless of how much pigment your skin has, then you deserve to have your brains splattered on the street when you're violenty ejected from your vehicle in the event of an accident.

The Lord only knows how much this study will cost us.

Remember the Alamo, and God Bless Texas...

Yer playin devil's advocate, methinks.
Before the study is started, brainstorm on some possible reasons why African American's do not buckle up.
Do it for the children.

What color do you think one has to be to realize "this fact"?

Why would a person's skin color make a difference in this case?

I'm sure any reasonable person would think that that's fair.  You agree, don't you?

Is this a fricking joke, Mauser?

Both your posts lately have been race-related, and when anyone says....anything, you accuse them of race-baiting or some other nonsense.

You will find that most conservative-type people aren't as race-conscious or care as much about race as your average black person, who seems to think it's an overwhelming part of reality.  And by ignoring or discounting race-consciousness, you are perceived as somehow being "racist" by hyper race-conscious people.

I think you are hyper race-conscious.

Sorry, but I do not think it is worth taxpayer money to study to see if any person of any color needs to figure out if they need to wear a seatbelt! ALL people need to wear a seat belt  while driving or riding in a car! How's that Raf?
