My dishwasher in my house is an older model, and it's doing something wierd...It gets the dishes clean but the drinking glasses, in thier top tier holders, end up with the stuff from dishes in the lower tiers plastered up inside them...anybody ever see this?

Either pre-wash the dishes better (kind of defeats the whole purpose of a DW doesn't it) or get a new dishwasher.  Just bit off on this problem myself.  The older cheaper dishwashers tend not to have a rotating wand under the top basket and just use the blast from the lower basket, and voila, if your bottom rack has a bunch of really cruddy ones on the bottom you end up with that crud on the top.  Ended up buying a new stainless steel dishwasher that is low-noise and only uses $24 of water and electricity per year (so the tag claims).
