I'm a big outdoorsman so in order to stay in the field more in-between hunting season, I picked up a camera and started shooting some wildlife. Mainly songbirds, raptors, and small mammals.
I'm shooting with a Nikon 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED IF AF-S VR and getting some awesome results, but there were a few times I wished for a lot more zoom to capture those weary animals. I thought about a Nikon AF-S Teleconverter TC-20E III, but I'm not 100% sold on the idea. One thing I can't do, is drop $10,000 on a tele-zoom lens for a small hobby, but I've seen some interesting setups with spotting scopes. Is there something in the price range of $1k-1.5k that could fit my needs? The $3k+ Swarovski is just a little outside my budget. Thanks! |

The Tamzooka is what you seek.

The problem is you have seen Tim Layman's or Norbert Rosing's work in National Geographic
and you want to emulate what a pro with 10k of hardware and 6 months in the field can produce. long lenses need quality tripod support and lugging that amount of stuff becomes a chore |

FredMan, I had a wildlife photographer recommend that same lens. I may have to purchase one!
Most of the time I'll be in a blind or my vehicle blind. I'm mostly wanting something huge as I had a beautiful rosette bobcat come in, but out of range to produce anything of quality. |

Even if it did, you would not be happy with the results. You just need a lens that does longer length: 80-400mm, 200-500mm, 150-600mm, etc. |
