Morons still can't figure out why nobody wants to see their movies.

+1.  I can't imagine a single reason
I'd want to watch that.

I didn't watch it.  Didn't even know it was on.  Wouldn't have watched it if I knew.

My lack of viewership is not newsworthy.  What is worthy of discussion is that there are sooo many people (who have the power to vote) who worship those weirdos.

All I saw was that it was the 78th annual, which occured to me that, backwards, is 87.

That's pretty much all I got out of it.

I did. I was happy to see Reese Witherspoon win for her portrayal of June Carter Cash, and to see Crash give a sound thrashing to the "homosexual agriculture workers" movie.

the audience was a bit thin-skinned....

There were two pointed references to how there was no substitute for "seeing a movie in a theater with a bunch of strangers", obviously to combat the drop in box office.  There were also the usual suspects claiming Hollywood was a brave and noble enterprise that just happened to make money accidentally.

I thought Stewart was pretty good.  It wasn't all his stuff anyway.  Oh...and the wife made me watch, she invited a couple of friends over for lasagna..

"Then he segued into a bit about how nice it was seeing so many stars in one place "without having to donate any money to the Democratic Party." But his next line, about how the event was also exciting for the stars because it was the first time many of them had ever voted for a winner, fell a bit flat. The veteran stand-up comedian actually showed a bit of mock nervousness.

I did- nothing better on.

ETA: although after watching it, I noticed the only movie nominated that I had seen was Chronicles of Narnia. I haven't seen "Walk the Line"- which would be the only other movie I would watch.

I watched it. Other than the sight of Selma Hayek, I found it extremely unimpressive.

I didn't watch it. I feel actors are over paid court jesters (fools), and have no real skills. The problem is that the general public buys into all that hollywood lifestyle crap.

I watched the second half of it.  I haven't seen most of the movies niminated, so I didn't really get into it like I used to.  I was glad to see that Hollywood can't take a damn joke.  The audience hated Stewart's jokes.  I loved them.

They had a montage of clips from movies about discrimination and racism and social ills and such.  Then Stewart's first words after it ended were, "And none of those issues were ever a problem again."  I laughed out loud at that one.  The actors didn't seem to care for it though.

Oh, and Selma Hayek is purty.

I just think he was an awesome host.

But to rub it in, my parents have met Salma Hayek, and my dad has a friend who is a good friend of hers. It is only a matter of time until I run into her at a party or something

They (they being the media) said that somewhere around 39 million sheeple watched that shit which was down by 8% since last year.  I honestly dont understand the fascination with people who make a living pretending to do shit.  Seriously,  WTF??  How about instead of paying Mel Gibson 10 mil a pic they pay our REAL POLICE that money.  Instead of paying (insert flavor of the month "playing soldier" on the BIG SCREEN) upteen million they give that money to the REAL soldiers.  Instead of having award shows for the upper class so they can blow suck eachothers asses they honor the men and women who gave their lives or are currently serving or have served this country.  Someone join me in a prayer that Hollywierd does in fact fall into the sea and take their pretenders with them.
