Gents, Heard some descriptive terms used for frequent flier clients vary around the country. In my area, Toad is a very popular one. I was deployed with a bunch of cops from NYC, who used the term Skell. Saw Chud used in a post a bit earlier. I think thug, crackhead, banger and doper are more specific terms that describe subpopulations of the larger Toad population. What are some other regional terms used to describe miscreants, malcontents, delinquents, career criminals, etc? |

NYC EMS has been retiring Skell (it's on too many TV shows) and patients complain to the LTs. LIMUS is the new thing, as in SkelLIMUS Maximus High Fiver (HIV) Urban Outdoorsman Bacardiac Conditions (ETOH abuse with chest pains) ![]() Bumsicles (for the 3 hots an a cot club) Pharmacutically Enhanced Moon Crickets (not really sure where that came from or what it means) there are a bunch. Piece of shit is an old favorite though... |
"Moon cricket"... ... now that takes me back. |
A few more from my days when FDNY-EMS was NYC-EMS (The good old days) Spanicus Hystericus (a.k.a. HYS Syndrome) "Aye", "Aye", Aye" Syndrome RBS (Russian Bolit Syndrome) Bacardiac Arrest (for those drunks that get called in as a Cardiac Arrest) MUTT (Medically Urgent Treatment and Transport). Skellsicle - for when the temp drops below 32 degrees. Oh ya, Moon Cricket was coined circa 1991 by the old 35W3 in Bed-Sty Brooklyn by my old partner, Gerry Stephens (R.I.P.) |

... now that takes me back.
I keeel myself.
