Afriend of mine once answered the phone and told the telemarketer that he was a homicide detective and started asking them all kinds of questions telling them that he was investigating a murder and wanted all of their personal info so he could investigate them since they were calling a murder scene.

my son is autistic and likes to talk on the phone.... most of the time he says hi 10 -20 times then repeats lines from movies he has seen....guess who talks to telemarketers in my house....it's a win-win situation....my boy enjoys it, i don't have to talk to them and they stop calling

I just put them on hold and go mow the lawn, have lunch, or see a movie. Sometimes all three.

It seems to work out pretty well.
