Looks like I won't be shooting my new .308 Savage as soon as I'd planned...

Wow...that's something I haven't seen before.

That or the UPS person decided he needed your rifle even more.

It's not the rifle that's shipping UPS... it's the ammo...

Dang, I wish I had all my .308 reloading gear already...

I've seen that before too.  I think that's UPS's "87" equivalent.

I wonder if they had to manually type that in, or if it is one of the sandard options from a drop down menu?

Damn dude.

Better stay inside during the next thunderstorm.

This must be it.  Looks like the rail system is closed.  The train carrying the mail didn't derail, but it's blocking the mail.

It's fairly common. And probably most of their ground shipments that are going a long ways go by train. I've seen entire trains where it seems like 80+% of the intermodal trailers on it were UPS.

Heck, if the .308 dies I have on backorder would just ship, it would quickly be a non-issue...

Sadly, it's either buy the really expensive ones, or wait forever for the Lee dies to get in stock somewhere...

I'm a tighwad... I'm waiting...

at least it's a legitimate reason.

USPS has decided to give my LPK a tour of the country before it gets to CA. shipped out from Texas to........Harrisburg PA, now it's at a processing center in Philly....who knows where the next stop is. Hopefully one day, it'll arrive with all it's pieces and  a healthy respect for the diversity of our fine nation.

Who do you think is portrayed on the Savage logo? Its chief Lame Bear who let Arthur Savage use his likeness. Also interestingly, being called a savage in those days was not considered derogatory.

Latest update says the package made it to Spokane, WA.  No update on final day of arrival yet, but at least I know it's cleared the, quite literal... train wreck!

Maybe I'll get to shoot the Savage next week after all!

My scope rings arrive today from Larue...

My Savage 10 FCP-SR arrives on Monday...

My Primary Arms 4-14 Scope arrives on Tuesday...

My Ammo arrives on... ?????

Can't wait to shoot it, this will be my first bolt gun...

I know someone who works for CSX railroad. He is fond of saying that CSX is an acronym for Chemical Spill Xpress.

With that in mind, my guess is that it's a standard option in the drop down menu
