I have a wirelesss D-Link camera that I can't get to communicate with my laptop via wireless. It works OK with Ethernet cable but wireless doesn't work.

The wireless connection is through a removable wireless card. I think it is an A or B protocol.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Yeah, post the IP and let me log in remotely. I'll straighten it right up for you.

If it's A it's likely that it won't connect with most laptops which are B/G capable.

You're laptop has to be in the ad-hock mode rather than the wireless access point.

Make sure that the laptop and camera are in the same IP network. You can find the IP of your laptop by going to the run box and typing CMD. You'll get a "DOS" box/command line interface. Now type in IPCONFIG /ALL and you'll get a listing of all your IPs. Typically you'll have two - you're looking for the wireless.

Got it working, Paul! Thanks!

It neede ad hoc AND a new network setting.

Now... since this is the same card I use for wireless networking at school... do I need to reset everything every time, or is there a way to save each configuration?
