I want to put a list of all the DVD's I own and put them on a list that can organize them by type, alphabetically etc. Does any know a program I can do this with? I did a search but hate downloading crap, that might be buggy or if one of those trial ones, that I won't be able to print etc. Thanks. |

I am not aware of a dvd tracking program... BUT if you wanted you could do the same thing in excel - Decide what heading you want (name, type, actors (if you want more than one you will need multiple columns), your rating, etc.. Then put your cursor on the line with your headings and go to top menu Data -> Filter -> Auto Filter Now your headings are locked and you can click on each heading and sort by ascending, descending, or what else shows up in the filter.. You can also have multiple filters at the same time.. then you can go back to Data -> Filter -> Show all to clear the filters.. Good luck... PM me if you need help and I will be happy to help Brian |

I started a thread like this a while ago. Not much luck though. About the only thing I could find was a few programs that you could buy that are made exactly for this. I ended up making a table in MS word and useing that. Seems to work ok for me. if you want, send me your e-mail and I 'll send you the template that I made up. Gene |

There is a cool program, I'm going to have to look it up.. I lost it when my HD crashed, it would catalog everything pretty nice. you can add dvd's manually or semi-automatic by putting in the barcode (I used a scanner, which worked awesome) it went to several dvd catalog sites (simillar to the IMDB for cd's) saved descritions, cover photos.. the who lot. eta: Movie Collector was the program. www.collectorz.com/movie/ |
Cool. will have to check it out. I'm in the same boat, more dvd's than memory.
