Can someone refer me to a book, ebook or something to help me understand everything my new camera is capable of?  I just want to know what I'm doing a little bit so my pictures come out as good as possible.

Thanks in advance!

Just play around with it. Try manual settings, aperature priority, shutter priority, different white balance settings, exposure comp settings.... Thats the nice thing about digital, you can play around with it and see the results right away.

As for sites, I think Canon has an online lessons.

Try www.phototakers.com and www.photographyreview.com 's forums.

Just like in film cameras, if you have a working understanding of how f-stop relates to depth of field, and that the faster the shutter speed, the better for stopping action, then most everything else will fall into place.
