Deadeye47 just for your info I was looking at a Bushmaster the other day it is the 25th anniversary model or something like that. It was pretty sweet. But you know I got my heart set on a DPMS.
Raptor22 does the 1:8 twist do well with the .223 rounds up in the 68 - 75 grain range? Are you able to get MOA or sub MOA groups at 100m, 200m, 400m, 600m and 1000m? Whats the longest groups you have tried? What scope do you have on it?
Thanks for all the info.

I have a DPMS Sweet Sixteen.  It is a fine rifle.  I shoot 3/4 inch groups at 100 yards when I do my part.  We use 52 gr Sierra 1410's and reload on a Dillon.

I would highly recommend a DPMS.

I had a DPMS that i built.

DPMS Stripped lower, with bushy fire control parts and busy a2 buttstock.

The upper was a complete DPMS a2 16 inch HBAR.

Except for a slightly loose fit between the upper and lower it was a great gun.

Unfortunately it was stolen out of my truck Monday night.

Raptor22:

I would also be interested to see if your 1:8 twist stabilizes the 75 and 77 grain rounds.

I can't decide if I want the 1:7 or 1:8 twist barrel for my match target rifle.

I have been talking back and forth with DPMS for the last few days and have been looking into this rifle for about a year now so I am pretty sure this is what I will get, but the more info I get prior to the purchase the better I feel.
I have another question for you all...
BSA scope 8.5-32x50 for $80
Leatherwood 6.5-20x44 A/O, Expert for $170
Leatherwood 6.5-20x44 A/O, Sharpshooter, Illuminated Reticle for $170

out of any and all of the consumer goods I have EVER bought, cars, toasters, ANYTHING, I have NEVER seen anyone back their products like DPMS!

They have bent over BACKWARDS to make sure I was happy with my match rifle!

pic

PS Rambowsky, you want a 1/8 for your match gun.
my1/8 stablizes 80grain Sierras very well.

Have ya ordered it yet?!?!?! When we going to take it for a test drive?? Inquiring minds want to know! [;d] I got my .223 bull barrel in for my single shot. I'm setting it up and looking for some good weather![:D]

I haven't ordered it yet. I am going to try to go to the big gun show in April to see if they have one there before I go and order one. I did some more research and am leaning towards the IR Leatherwood scope unless someone else can give me a good word or two on the 32x scope from BSA. Is there that great of a difference going from 20x to 32x? would the better optics of Leatherwood hopefully make up for it?

I am still breaking it in.  I have only put 100rds through it over two trips to the range with it.  I started with 50rds of 75g and ended with 50rds of 77g.  100 yards has been the longest distance so far.  I started the break process with an EOTech 552 at 50yards just for the fun of it.  I sighted in an ATN 5x33LU  scope for a sale at 25 yards and was putting holes in holes.  At 50 yards, I would say about .5 MOA or less.  I only did 10 rds at 100yds.  Six were in the red and I had 4 flyers.  It was the end of a long day at the range in October.  I will be back out with it when it warms up a little.

Oh well anyone have any opinions on the scopes I listed earlier?
How about the 3 triggers DPMS offers?
Which is best for ultra accurate shooting?
JP tigger-UG-69-$139.00
Jard Trigger-UG-JT-$169.00
2-stage Trigger-UG-TS-144.95.

#1 there is a DPMS forum in the Industry section.

I own a Deluxe 24 also.  Its been shooting pretty good,  but I've only gotten to shoot at 50 yards (indoor range, up until recently its been too cold for me to go blastin).  I just got the ambi safety (lefty here), the JP trigger (very nice!) and a bipod stud put on.

I put weaver rings on it and a Weaver V24 scope.  Also added a Gapper and Accuwedge.

I have the 24 Special, and it is an excellent rifle. Mine is 1/9 twist,JP single stage trigger,Armalite scope mount, and Bushnell Elite 4200 MilDot 6x24x40. I have shot a few 55gr and hundreds 69gr bullet weights. I reload Serria 69gr BTHP,LC brass, and VV N140 powder. With this load I shoot sub MOA,no problem. I have shot paper out to 250 yards a few time, and the groups have all stayed right at 1'inch. I have taken groundhogs out to 350 yard, several times. The rifle, trigger, scope, and mount have all been excellent, and is a prefect setup for me. I hope this helps.
