We have a wide range of knowledge here, so does anyone know if you can set a Dlink router so that you can't connect to Kazaa? I am in charge of a small network at my office, and one of the people on the network uses Kazaa. While they are not my boss, for various reasons, I can't just tell them to stop. They know almost nothing about computers, so if it just stops working they will just think Kazaa stopped working.

I believe if you block incoming and outgoing packets on port 1214 that will do it. Both TCP and UDP packets

Stay away from Kazzaa....it is LOADED with spyware.

That used to work but I think the newer versions will use any open port they can find including port 80

Did you bother to read the manual?

In the Filters section (P.25 in my DLink Manual) "URL Blocking".  Also, they have "Domain Blocking".

Yea, I did. *WHAT* URL or address does Kazaa connect to, though. I don't want to install it on my computer to find out.

It's not our computer, it's his. He is kind of an independent, and I am not the one in charge of him, anyway.  I would just as soon do this very low key myself and not start a bunch of crap.

I have got to start doing a bunch of +1, btt, tags etc. My post count sucks.

Take the network down for a couple of hours.... say there is a trojan from an unknown source.. let him think he did it....

www.kazaa.com

but the Filter will also block URL's containing that, such as

http://www.kazaa.com/us/index.htm
