You gonna be a highway bandit(wsp), or a real cop?

deputy. Hey look, it's 0445, time to head out..

What's wrong with being a ramprat?

ONLY 716 more hours to go? Man you got it made! You're on the downhill slide now! And making all that great money, too.... Hang in there bro. I taught basic school for years, and it's really a long haul for the students. Seems like more quit because they get tired of the grind than because they can't handle the work. You'll make it if you really want to. Don't forget to give your spouse/GF/parents etc. a pat on the back from time to time. It's as rough on them as it is on you......

Ramprat - isn't it an awefully boring job?
Link Posted: 5/9/2003 11:59:20 AM EST
Ramprat? More like AAA with a gun here in Oklahoma...lol.

I like deputies. Got one of my tickets from a Thurston County Deputy. Nice guy. The WSP wasnt so cool, he just wanted money. What county? Here in Thurston the Sherriff is Gary Edwards. My dad knows him, says hes a good man. That said, Dallas Hogan, the Deputy that was arrested for rape, arrested a felon in my yard. Good luck.

Hey pale. Your down by OKC right? I start with TCSO on June 2nd.

So tell us about Day 2, Day 3 and more... J/K. I feel your pain. When I went through the academy it was a mere 22 weeks long with an 8 month FTO program. Two guys in my academy had the extended FTO program of 12 months...both were kinda slow I hear.

sixgunsblazing Good luck. I'm just starting the process now. When you get 5 minutes after this is all over I'm going to bust your chops for some tips. I've got a hernia surgery on the 23rd that will take me out of action for three weeks but I'm still on target to start testing and interviewing this year. I'm in Edmonds. Where are you? South, East, West, or North of Normandy park? When I do end up at the Academy I will have less of a drive than you. Only 1 hour or less and if the traffic is too bad going North I can go South to Tacoma and crash at my Mom's.

Hey bigern, where are you trying to get hired? I work pretty close to Edmonds (very close, actually), and went through the academy in 2000. I'd be glad to answer any questions you might have.

Good luck Wayne. Don't bitch too much on these boards....your instructors hang out here too. Just be glad you're not in Police Corps! It's a pain in the ass sometimes but you WILL look back and smile. Brian
