Im sure I could, right up till I destroyed something or killed someone.
Link Posted: 10/8/2007 2:44:25 PM EDT
[#10]
That would be pretty much a terrible idea.
Link Posted: 10/8/2007 2:44:31 PM EDT
[#11]
I don't think so, but sometimes I think a light buzz would eliminate the headache at the end of the day.
Link Posted: 10/8/2007 2:45:20 PM EDT
[#12]
no, it wouldn't be possible at all
Link Posted: 10/8/2007 2:45:24 PM EDT

I could easily.  Right up to the point where I get fired.
Link Posted: 10/8/2007 2:45:36 PM EDT
[#14]
Easily.  I have a number of times in the past.  My job REALLY isn't that hard.

I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be a good idea for me to go to work after a couple.

Occasionally the boss takes me to lunch and we drink a few.... or more.

He thinks I can do my job drunk so so do I.

I work for a tree trimming/removing company.  I basically climb trees for a living.

Drinking on the job could be deadly.

I wait 'til I get home.

Full Time-I sell Guns.
Yes I could! I'm sure I'd handle firearms with more respect/responsibility than 98%
of my customers.

Part Time-Bartender.
I NEED to drink in order to fulfill my sworn duties.

Soon to Be-LEO.
Hell no. I believe I'd need to be pretty gottdamn sharp on tha job.

I'd hate to think about having to do my job sober!

Link Posted: 10/8/2007 2:52:26 PM EDT
[#23]
No.

Power tools and alcohol don't mix.

[#24]
I'm a nurse.

Yeah I could do it drunk but there's no way the coworkers or even the patients would not be able to smell it.

Link Posted: 10/8/2007 2:52:46 PM EDT
[#25]
No.  It would be terrible.
Link Posted: 10/8/2007 2:54:03 PM EDT

school buses and booze don't mix. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if kids got hurt because I was drunk.

Kinda hard to put together an accurate estimate when your seeing two of everything on the prints.
Link Posted: 10/8/2007 3:20:44 PM EDT
[#32]
Not really.

One time I took a new person to lunch (hoping to win schmoozing points) and she insisted that I drink something with her.  She had wine so I ordered the smallest glass of beer I could find.  It didn't really affect me too much, but I still felt bad for having had a drink on the job.

Probably not, I have to answer phones and transfer calls and I don't think I'd be able to do that passably.
Link Posted: 10/8/2007 3:21:55 PM EDT
[#35]
Answer the phone drunk? Sure.
Link Posted: 10/8/2007 3:23:10 PM EDT
[#36]
yup. The most I ever have to deal with is 600 amps. but its only DC so as long as the tools are insulated good its safe.

I dont really like being up on rolling ladders though. I do tend to drop more tools, but they never fall in a bad place.

The day I can't do my job drunk is the day I turn in my gun and badge.

I'm a manager. It would probably improve my performance
Link Posted: 10/8/2007 3:29:21 PM EDT
[#39]
I could, but I dare not!

I fix airplanes for a living, and they fly over homes and businesses.

I don't want to see one of my planes on the 5 O'colck news because I could'nt wait for that drink.

Could I?  Probably.  However I'd probably lose a digit, perhaps even a hand.  And more than likely lay a wrecking to a 3/4 million dollar machine.

I'm an IT guy.  Troubleshooting is a lot more entertaining when you're hammered.  Oddly enough I had the opportunity to do such things when I was in the Navy.  The other netadmin was on leave and out of state... I was drunk off my ass on the weekend but not on duty... Chief had to come get me.   Yeah, fun times

There is only ONE job that can be done effectively ... nay, MORE EFFECTIVELY, while drunk.

Sales.

I can't do my job drunk, but when I was in college you'd have to be high to right some of the programming code we came up with.

Part of my job is packing parachutes. Could I do it drunk? Probably.

The question is, would you want me to?

I teach Freshmen and Seniors in high school... social studies, of course.

The Freshmen I could teach with a buzz, the Seniors would call me out on it.
