You hear people saying this stuff and maybe they are just paranoid,but what if it really did happen.Like lets say Kerry is elected.He works with the UN and brings gun ownership to and end.And many other things that I cant think of right now.How would america react?Would the people fight back?Or would america just sit back and take it?Would this year be the start of the ultimate SHTF in america?This has probably been talked about and maybe I just didnt read it.I'm bored so I thought I might ask.

The sad answer is :  As long as cable/dish TV is working, there is food in the stores, and gas at the pumps, Most wouldn't care who is in charge.  Especially if the MSM says we are all better off not disrupting things every 4 years.  Just let the UN do everything for us.

I hope it’s the end of the Democratic Party as it is NOW.

There is nothing inherently wrong with the basic line they started with.  But somewhere in the later half of the 20th Century it became corrupted and polluted.  We can argue for around 20 pages about what went wrong and what went right with them.  If they can reclaim their souls it would be a decent alternative to the Republican Party.  Not every Republican is worth voting for.
I’m skipping the Libertarian Party as it would complicate my train of thought.

Has anybody who has voted yet noticed that many low level and Local vacancies have people running as both Democrat AND Republicans?  Which party do you vote for then?

Every 4 years, the fanatics on both sides predict the end if "the most important election in history" doesn't go their way.

And every 4 years, they are proven wrong.

Is the Republic in serious trouble?

Absolutely.  But it's not because one bozo wants you to pay a tax of 26%, while the other wants you to "only" pay 25%.  And it's not because one wants to ban all guns immediately, while another just wants to ban some of them.  And so on....

Neither candidate is addressing the issues that are destroying the Republic.  Illegal immigration, loss of national soverignty, failed educational system, looming energy crisis, massive federal debt, militarization of the police, war between the sexes, war against our Freedom, loss of our manufacturing base, etc.....

Things will get worse, regardless of who "wins" the election.

Well shit, no one is responding to my post about this so I will post here. I think that anyone saying this election will be just like any other is wrong - and this is just a small part of the reason why. The person that wins this election is going to name the next 1-3 supreme court judges, and also will take the country down one of two paths. It is either going to be annihilation or appeasement of the terrorists. If the wrong man gets in, we lose. Furthermore, if the wrong man gets in, say goodbye to our gun rights and an increasing involvement in the NWO - otherwise known as the UN In addition to To terrorist attacks which will become as commonplace as fenderbenders in our society. For me the choice is clear. But  millions of stupid people out there are easily swayed, and mistakenly believe john kerry is the answer.

Those who are truly DEMOCRATS will remain as Democrats, while those who follow the communist and socialist ideals are going to split off and call themselves something else.

Like Republicans?

And you'll be back in 4 years saying the same thing.  (Hopefully then we'll have a "real" Republican to vote for)

Eventually, a democrat *will* win.  To suggest otherwise is to say that you can flip a coin into perpituity and expect it to never come up "tails".  So is America dead once that coin does comes up a "tail", and a democrat is elected?  If so, then it's time to consider some other options here.

As for "saying goodbye to our gun rights", no government can ever take that Right from a Free man or woman.  Governments can only fail to recognize that Right, at which point, that government becomes totally illegitimate (see the Declaration of Independence).  If the American people are weak enough to surrender their Rights to a bozo like Kerry, then it's just a matter of time before they surrender them anyway.

As for your arguments about judges, yes, Kerry will appoint statists to the bench.  Just like Bush has done (like the judge he appointed that said the RKBA didn't apply to the 2nd amendment).  At least if the Republicans keep the Senate, we have a chance to stop one of the statists Kerry will appoint.

As for the NWO, "open borders" and "FTAA" are part of that agenda.  And Kerry isn't the only candidate supporting those two issues.

Should Kerry win, I don't think much will get done in the next two years.  Kerry will talk like the leftist statist that he is, and accomplish nothing.  This will result in a backlash against him, similar to what we saw in 1994, assuming the Republicans aren't too stupid to mess it up (a major assumption).  And I think Kerry will lose in a landslide, assuming the GOP nomiates a "real" Republican in 2008.

I am not saying just because a democrat wins eventually. I am not saying once a democrat wins. What I am saying is that this is the most important election of our lifetime, given our current circumstances. Will we have obstacles to overcome in the future? Sure.

Do I laugh, or cry?

T, keep asking questions. Keep thinking for yourself. You MUST educate yourself, because the public school system isn't doing it.

No, regardless of the outcome, this election won't be the end of our system. The slow, creeping erosion which others have described so well in this thread might kill off our society, but this single election won't.

Scary analogy!  Makes you wonder!
Subject: History Lesson
Very interesting...

===============

At about the time our original 13 states adopted their new constitution, in the year 1787, Alexander Tyler (a Scottish history professor at The University of Edinburgh) had this to say about "The Fall of The Athenian Republic" some 2,000 years prior.

"A Democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A Democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, (which is) always followed by a dictatorship."

"The average age of the worlds greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:

   >From bondage to spiritual faith;

   >From spiritual faith to great courage;

   >From courage to liberty;

   >From liberty to abundance;

   >From abundance to complacency;

   >From complacency to apathy;

   >From apathy to dependence;

   >From dependence back into bondage."

Professor Joseph Olson of Hamline University School of Law, St. Paul, Minnesota, points out some interesting facts concerning the most recent Presidential election:

   Population of counties won by:

   Gore=127 million
   Bush=143 million

   Square miles of land won by:

   Gore=580,000
   Bush=2,2427,000

   States won by:

   Gore=19
   Bush=29

   Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by:

   Gore=13.2
   Bush=2.1

Professor Olson adds:

"In aggregate, the map of the territory Bush won was mostly the land owned by the tax-paying citizens of this great country. Gore's territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in government-owned tenements and living off government welfare..."

Olson believes the U.S. is now somewhere between the "complacency and apathy" phase of Professor Tyler's definition of democracy; with some 40 percent of the nation's population already having reached the "governmental dependency" phase...
