WTF.
http://www.chronicleonline.com/content/deputy-fired-misconduct You gotta read the whole thing, but I'll outline the weirdness. Deputy Sheresa “Sherri” Absher, 40, was terminated June 4 after a CCSO Internal Affairs (IA) investigation determined she misused her agency identification while drinking alcoholic beverages; engaged in conduct unbecoming of an officer; provided conflicting statements and engaged in unlawful conduct. Officer went drinking and kayaking. Lost her keys and cellphone. Kept going to a local bar to use the phone. Found a guy's car unlocked in the parking lot. Her and her friend got into the car, soaking wet, and found the guy's wallet. The cop's friend hides the dude's wallet, all the while they're soaking this guy's upholstery. Dude comes back and sees two women in his car, says, uh, what the hell are you doing? The cop asks to use his cellphone, saying she won't give his wallet back unless he lets her, he refuses, they get into an argument. She identifies herself as a cop. Dude reports it, IA investigates, she gets fired. Absher’s case has been forwarded to the State Attorney’s Office, and she may face criminal charges, according to CCSO officials. Unsurprisingly she has been involved in controversy before in other states. http://www.courthousenews.com/2012/03/21/44873.htm |

Why was she Kayaking? What would she have done if it flipped.? Would have been a goner.

“Although new to our agency, this deputy was an experienced law enforcement officer from another state with an otherwise exemplary work history,” said Undersheriff Buddy Grant in a statement. View Quote Translation: We never vetted her record, but you can rest assured that we only hire nothing but the highest of caliber employees. There's nothing really to see here, so don't go digging into the fact that she falsified official reports in the past to put an innocent man away for 39 months in another State for alleged vehicle theft. |

You do realize that drinking/canoeing trips are very popular and widespread? Just because you are drinking doesn't mean you will instantly drown if you get into water. |

ETA, nevermind, I see she was new to the Citrus County Sheriffs Office... |

How do you know she's guilty? I don't see a picture at any of those links.

I have been shot at more than once, suffered numerous assaults, received broken bones, torn ligaments and tendons, been cursed at, threatened and spit on more times than I can count. I have missed several holidays, nights, and weekends with my family, paid for my own education, and never received more than a captain's letter of commendation during my eight-year career. I don't want anything except to be able to do my job without political influence. I don't play politics and don't expect special treatment or extra benefits. All I ask is for residents of Missouri to realize that the City of St. Louis local government cannot manage its current responsibilities successfully. To give them more responsibility is a poor business decision and could have a disastrous outcome for those we protect and serve. Fucking lying, criminal twat. |
