as a skydiver, I've got a ContourHD and a GoProHD (pre 2 and 3)

many other skydivers have the same and newer models.

I basically record all my jumps, go home and upload them to my computer for viewing/editing.

what I'd like to find, is an inexpensive means to do playback for both types of cameras
(SD and microSD  cards)   At my DZ, we have access to a  fairly large HDTV.  If you have the cable,
you can hook up your GoPro or other player  (Contour does not have a direct connect cable option
that I'm aware of (I know some newer models have wi-fi))  This 'community' HDTV does need you to get a ladder
to hook up any cables.

if there is a device that was simple, inexpensive and could support all the various cameras playback,
I'd be happy to buy (donate) one and leave it hooked up for everyone to use.  it will need wireless remote capabilities.

I'm thinking a small dvd player with SD slot (do they even make one?), but I don't keep up with the latest gadgets,
and there may be something out there that y'all would know about.

okay Hive Mind (tm), show me what you got

Old laptop

Careful with tablets, a lot of them don't play Gopro codex very well even though they play the general format

I was also thinking an inexpensive lap top with either a SD reader or I just plug in my camera to the lap top and download.

whats a cheap tablet that has an SD slot and can play HD video (720+) w/o problems?

BTT...   I looked at the new line of NookHD/HD+
they might fit the bill, but I won't leave it laying around at the DZ...
and the reviews place these as 'low end'..  so maybe I just buy a middle range tablet for myself?
any recommendations along those lines?  (SD card slot, ability to natively play HD videos and also have a cable to serve the video to an HDMI monitor)
