My parents went to a holiday party this evening and left me and my brother with some money for takeout. That's okay, because it's a lawyer holiday party and 200 lawyers cannot possibly throw an interesting party. So we call Takeout Taxi to try to order some subs. Surprise surprise! They don't deliver to my area just yet. Okay, no biggy, all I wanted was some meat, I can get that from the local Chinese place. I call my order in, and wait. One hour later, I'm hungry because all I've eaten today is some homous and pita, and the Chinese is taking way longer than their usual (but not guaranteed) half hour. Finally, it arrives. Just as soon as I pay the guy and put the food on the counter, I get a call. It's my aunt in indianapolis, who can talk the ears off of a deaf man. We chitchat for 40 mins, all the while my food's getting cold and I'm getting hungrier. I finally get off the phone and put some soy sauce on my food. WHAM! I trip over the dog and spill a good quarter of my Kung Pao chicken. After another five minutes mopping it up and stopping the dog from eating it, I finally get the remainder upstairs and put some more soy-sauce on it. In the process spilling some on my nice new Guayabera shirt. This is not shaping up to be a pleasant evening. |
