I am not good at computers.
That said I am trying to hook my laptop to my Flatscreen TV I have done it in the past with no issues but I just tried it and the image on the TV is off center. The picture is off to the left about 1/4 of the screen. The left 1/4 of the picture is missing and the right 1/4 of the screen is black. How do I get it centered up? If I need to explain it better LMK and I will try

I tried some things with no luck. I have windows 7 also.

If you have an nVidia card in your laptop, run the nVidia Control Panel, it has an option to correct TV output.

EDIT: Its manual, so it takes some time.

How can I see if I have that or not? Again I know LITTLE about them.

Right click the desktop, it should say "Nvidia Control Panel" as an option.

Doesn't say anything about nVidia.

Then I'm no help. I bought an Nvidia card just because I couldn't figure out how to fix it on an ATI card back in the day.

I'm sure someone will chime in with a way to do it.

What cable?
Was 'in the past' on this same system and same OS?

Plug everything up and reboot your computer.

Have you tried changing resolution?

If all else fails

Start>run> type dxdiag> display 1.

Should see nvidia or ati. Look for the series card if ati and go to amd's site and dl thenewest driver w/ catalyst control center for it.

A video monitor cable, actually 2 I pulled the one off my home PC wondering if the other was bad hooked to the RGB connection.

I am 99.999% sure it was on this laptop as-is.

I'm guessing cable problem. Check for a bent/bad pin.
