I have reformatted a number of times due to some video conflicts and finally(I think) got it figured out. Windows xp Ati Radeon 1650 I was having problems with the "Video adapter(vga compatible) It would not install a driver for it so I finally downloaded what I think is the most up to date MOBO driver kit and the little fucking yellow exclamation point finally went away. Now it shows a "Radeon x1650" and a "Radeon x1650 secondary" in my device manager. Disabling either of these seems to do no good. Now for the problem. I start CoD4 and it runs fine for approximately 5 seconds into a game and then the screen blacks out. I get a thing that says "No video output" and eventually it goes away and the game starts back up and chops for a bit before finally crashing totally. I am at my wits end here. I have been fighting this on and off for 3 days and my urge to kill is rising....... Well after several days of fruitless ventures in this area I decided to get another card. I picked up a Radeon HD 3650 and installed it. Seems to work fine but it has an onboard sound setup and AV out type jazz. My problem now is that if I install the driver for it it disables my onboard sound. If I dont install the driver for it it disables my onboard sound. Since the only plugs that my speakers have interface with the Mobo I have no sound. I have uninstalled the drivers for the regular onboard sound and installed the others and every combination I can think of. It will simply not play any sound. Opinions? Thanks for all the help on the previous one as well. It just had something wrong with it I think. |

I just love it when people ask for help and start out by insulting those he's asking for help. 'Hey neanderthal, redneck, gun nut, assholes, I need your help' 'Hey pizza delivery fuckhead, bring me a pizza' 'Hey jizz receptacle whore, let's go out' 'Hey, greasemonkey mullet head, fix my car'

There seems to be a lot of crap in there. Is it ok to turn it all off? Ehtray Rundll32 rhtdcpl arpwrmsg Nvcpl Nwiz Dmascheduler Recguard ccapp Cfgwhiz Usrprompt HPbootop RemindxP HpwuSched2 Clistart Msmsgs |
Up until this issue it ran the game just fine. In fact it never so much as glitched.
I think you misunderstand my use of the term. All the computer nerds I know love to be called that. They work for microsoft and make lots of money because of it. I sure will never know as much as they. On the other hand I get called "That crazy gun guy" all the time and it makes me smile. People come to me with questions and I answer them as I can. |
Well, I'm a computer guy and it pisses me off. Sorry, it's one of my pet peeves. Other professions don't usually have a slur attached. |
I am a bartender and I get called "chief" and "boss" all the time, You gots to roll with it man! Ok, tried that and it worked again for a bit until I got another error message. VPU recover terminated the program because the graphics accelerator was no longer accepting commands from the application. |
Another thought is the video card has become defective. |

What chipset is in your Mobo? If it is a Via go to www.via.com.tw and download the latest 4-in1 chipset drivers. If you've already done this, try an older version. Sometimes a soundcard driver can also cause a problem. Try taking out your soundcard and see if it runs. |
Yeah, but most times they just stop working all together if they fried. |

no hardware conflicts that I can see. Gonna load up the older drivers and check that out. The only thing that bothers me is that it shows 2 graphics cards and lists one as secondary. I have no idea how one would change that or even if I am supposed to. Hugh. I apologize if I insulted you. |
hughjafj, I've got a question for ya. When I reboot.. everything is normal. When I boot up in the morning (cold PC)... Cmos occasionally goes into a long beep. And the pc shuts down maybe 3 or 4 times ( automatically ) ,before it begins to boot up. Does it sound like the power supply is going out on my desktop ? |
|
Also, try doing a google search for your problem or go to a support site for your game. Most times you're not the first person to have this problem and it's an easy fix with directions posted. Worst case scenario something didn't load right on your reformat and re-install and you'll have to do a re-install of windows. That's happened to me quite a few times actually. Ain't computers fun? |
Dude, my apologies. Just in a pissy mood. The reason it shows two cards is so you can do the multiple monitor thing. Most new cards show up that way. |
Soundcard in onboard. I can disable it though Aida32 says unknown Mobo so no idea on the chipset. Guess I am gonna have to get in there with a flashlight! |

if its an old PSU it could be going out not performing up to its standards as oppossed to a complete failure which you would know
