I installed some piece of shit program called "Stop Sign" by eAcceleration because I was desperate to block pop ups. It doesn't work and won't freaking go away. My spyware programs find it and can't fix it. I can't unintall it. I found it under C: program files but it will not let me delete. HELP PLEASE!! |
Isn't that the crap they always advertised on TV in those 'foreign' accents? |

couple of different things to try. First see if it is in the startup folder. right click on the start button and pick explore. There should be a folder called all users. Then under that programs then start see if it is in there. If a short cut exists there, then delete it and reboot. You should be able to delete it after that. If not, the next thing to try is to reboot into safe mode with a command prompt. You can then change directories into program files and then delete the offending program from there. You will get an error message on the next start up saying it is missing, but I think you can live with that. If that doesn't work, you final check is in the registry and look for the start up entry in there. You will have to do a search for it by name and see if it shows up. Start by searching under the exe name in program files. |
