One of my computers shuts down and says thermal fan error when I can get it to stay on for a minute.

So what gives?

Sounds like the fan on your processor or case is out!

Probably the fan on the processor.  Take the cover off and take a peek.

Open your case up and see if and what fans kick on when you boot up. If it is your processor heat sink fan, your cpu will fry quick if no fan. the other case fans are probably 80mm fans, you can find these cheap at newegg.com.

Also heat sinks with fans are cheap, again newegg.com

Good luck
