Got a new Acer computer yesterday. I deleted the trial version of Microsoft Office and now it doesn't recognize the D drive. Short of a return trip to the store, how do I begin to get the computer to recognize the drive? Control Panel didn't help. Windows Vista Home edition. Thanks for any advice...

Reboot, also go to device manager and remove the CD/DVD or what ever drive and then reboot, it should find and reinstall drivers.

No worky. In Control Panel I get a message that the device is corrupted or missing, yet when I attempt to update the driver, it tells me that the driver is installed and working.

Took it back to the store where it spent the entire day yesterday. When I picked it up, dumb me didn't insist that they connect it to see if the problem was solved. Hooked it up last night, only to find that the techs hadn't touched it, apperently, since I have the same problem still.

Any other suggestions, short of returning it again, which is a pain in the arse.
