Here's what's happening...

Every link on my computer is being converted to something called "livefeedonline"

I come to arfcom, I click on a topic, and it goes to this livefeed thing, it looks like a search engine of somekind, and whatever the topic was shows up.

For instance, I click on a thread that says "Giants vs Cowboys" and instead of the thread coming up, something that looks like google comes up, with results for Giants and cowboys stuff.

I can click "back", and "refresh", and I'll get about 5 seconds to click on something before it switches to the livefeed thing.

this will be the fifth time I've tried to post this

I had something similar and after a while the only website I could go to was my homepage and then it defaulted to a google style search results page if I clicked anything.  Malewarebytes and Norton could not touch it.  System restore could not fix it.  I had to restore the whole computer to day 1 factory settings.

It was a redirect virus of some kind.  It was far tougher than the antivirus 2008 style viruses.  I've cleaned them before successfully.

This.  And in addition to MBAM, I might throw in Spybot Search and SuperAntiSPyware & Destroy just for an extra measure of protection.  It's tough for a single product to get all malware (although MBAM is pretty darn close in my experience!)

ETA:  don't forget to boot in safe mode

Download MalwareBytes.
Change the filename when you save it (just in case there's a viirus watching for it).
Install it, choosing the update option.
Change the name of the executable in the Malwarebytes folder (just in case there's a viirus watching for it).
Reboot in safe mode.
Delete the contents of your temp and Temp INternet files (optional, but it'll make your scan go a lot faster)
Run Malwarebytes and scan everything.

I had to reload Windows on one computer at home from scratch.  It took a while but it killed off all the viruses.

You have SPYWARE.  You could attempt to clean it out of the registry manually but unless you can get a removeal tool for it your best bet is just to reload the O/S.

If you have critical data buy a new HDD and build off of that then you can slave your existing drive and pull your documents over.  That's the easiest way to do it.

New HDD for a PC will only run you about 50-75 bucks and thats only if you have critical data on your existing otherwise just format and reload windows.  If you take it to a store to fix it they will bend you over with no lube.. don't do that.

Don't spend time downloading every SPYWARE tool known to man it only takes a couple hours to reload.

No body wants to buy an over priced underpowered computer in order to code viruses for little girls and metrosexual men,  thats why MAC has less viruses.

it is not spyware... most likely a Trojan and very hard to get off, but very possible... google is your friend search around if you cannot get it and google what the pop ups are on a different PC

Not to sound like a jerk but your hosed.
Back up pics, quicken, tunes and the such then format in dos and reload windows.
You can try running adaware and spybot first. Not at the same time run one then the other.

2 guys at work got the same thing a few weeks back(actually a little worse) You could fix it but I would not waste the time.

Do not put in any personal info on that box(passwords, bank info and such) untill you put a fresh os on it!!!!!. Yes it sound like a simple redirect but you never know!!

hope that helps

firstly back up all your important shit up to a usb drive

format and reload windows, its the only way to be sure. Actually, this is a good time to buy the new Windows 7 and install it.

after that, install these and use them:

firefox 3.5
noscript add on for firefox
avast! home free antivirus
malwarebytes

and dont forget to enable auto updates in windows
