Introduced a friend of mine to the wonderful world of the WWW about a month ago. This guy is 59 years old and has NEVER used a computer before. So he starts visiting the porn sites and being new to the PC, he was clicking everywhere. Somehow he has gotten into a jam where his system will only start up in safe mode and from what he tells me, he is blocked from much of the net.

He is running a new Dell with Vista on Comcast. I am going over later this evening to try to help him out. If it is booting in safe mode, how do I exit this mode? Could he have inadvertantly downloaded some corrupt drivers while roaming for the porn?

TIA

Hit F8 as windows boots and choose normal mode.  Usually when the computer is going to start other than normally you get the menu automatically from which to select the desired boot mode.

You might want to then do a system restore to the original settings.  pretty easy to do (look up system restore in the help area).
