| another way to tell if its spam or not, is when it comes up "Right-Click" the messege, then goto "Properties", that is, if it has one, if not, its real, if it does, after you click the Properties, look at around the middle of the Properties, you should see if it has an "HTTP" address, it usually will, and its a pop-up. |
I've just been closing it, because I didn't know what it was. I had a friend hook all of this up, including a router that I thought would make me secure. My Yahoo Toolbar/Popup Blocker has blocked 12 popups today so far.The only "firewall" I've ever tried was Zone Alarm, and I couldn't get on the web until I deleted it. I had Norton Systemworks 2003 on the 98SE, but it caused some goofy stuff to happen so I'm not loading it on this new system. Does having a router give me the protection I want/need?

I wouldn't run XP without SP2 installed. Period. |
|
Where do people come up with this stuff about SP2?? I install SP2 at least 10 times a day on customers computers... Its very rare to screw up a computer.... unless the computer is full of incompatible software and or virus, trojan, spyware.. install the programs i posted and a good antivirus and you'lll be fine!
