I just picked up a 21" Diamondtron monitor from my uncle.

For some reason it is blurry on some parts of the screen.  The top left corner, top right corner, and the bottom of the screen are all just slightly blurry.  It's not enough that I can't read words but it is enough to annoy me.

Any of you computer folks have any idea what I could do to fix the problem?  I have already adjusted all the monitor settings and nothing improved the blurriness.

Just used the Degauss button and nothing changed.

Also, the connections are good.

In my experience, the monitor will always be that way. Cannot be fixed except professionally, which cost about same as new monitor. Hope you have better luck than i did.

You know  I have never had a sub17in monitor go fuzzy on me.
But at work  we are seeing alot of 21in monitors go fuzzy after time.
Nothing you can do about it really.

Well isn't that just great.

I guess it's a good thing I haven't paid him for it yet.

the Mitsubishi Diamontrons have a user interface that allows you to scroll through several adjustments

focus its one of them
theres also geometry and color

i usually make a wallpaper of gridlines and adjust to get the majority of the monitor in focus

if you use the interface to size the raster all the way out to the edges
you will create desktop in non optimal locations

the factory default restore is a good place to start focus work

theres usually about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch of black around the border

Ok, I used to own an electronics repair shop and have fixed this problem only accouple times.  On any monitor or tv for that matter there is always a focus adjustment control.  On larger tvs and monitors there are often multiple focus controls and if you contact me I'll tell ya how to adjust em.  It has to be done with the back off so I'll need to talk to you before you attempt this.  You can IM me and I'll give you my number or email [email protected] with your number and I'll call, whatever tomarrow sometime.  It's safe if you know what your doing just alittle too much for a post.  Good luck  Joe

If doc_zoc is right I would try that first and like he said put up a wallpaper with detail, that will help.

sometimes, the focus adjustment knob is inside in the monitor case.  remove the back plastic case and look for knobs you can adjust with a screwdriver.  BE CARFULL and don't touch anything else. lots yummy electrons to fry your heart with in that thing, even when its turned off and unplugged  (capsitors)

1024x768 @ 100HZ is the only setting that looks right.

Move your speakers dude.  They are likely causing the interference.

Already thought of that and already did.

Still blurry.

Besides, speakers tend to cause a purple hue around the edges from the magnets causing the problem.  That wasn't the problem.
