OK, for any computer literate people out there.

I am changing out my computer for a new one, and I need to save some Emails.

How do I save Emails from my old computer and put them into my new computer?

The address book I can copy, send it to a desktop folder, burn it onto a CD-R, and then dump back into the new computer, but it won't let me do Emails.

Help!

Its not too hard, you ought to be able to google for this, the only thing is you'll quite possibly need the original CD that it came from.

There's something on the Files menu, probably called export where you can choose the folders and chuck em to CD, then on your new machine you choose Files --> import.

Of course YMMV and you might want to confirm import onto the new machine, BEFORE deleting them from the old one.

EQ is correct.  File menu -> Export -> messages.  Dump the file somewhere you know and what you called it, then copy it off where ever, then with the new Outlook do a File -> Import -> messages.

print them all off

then hook up a scanner to your new computer

scan all of the emails and use ocr software to convert them to text files

Windows XP has a transfer utility if you can hook the machines together.

There are USB cables, serial cables and network cables to do this.

Exporting e-mails from Outbreak Abscess has never worked for me. Just run a search for all files with the extensions dbx. Start, Search *.dbx. Save those files, copy them to your new computer and then you can import them into Lookout Excess. /That/ works, oddly enough.

I did not know outlook express used .dbx files. I thought you wanted to transfer .pst files?

I tried to use that export/import feature and didnt have much luck.
