OK, this is a new one to me. Used and sold in the CMP. Anyone know anything about them?

Yes, Yes, and Yes again.  A new complete will run ya around 1200$

Edit to add...that is, Bushy-based lower with CLE trigger and a Douglas barrel.

AUG,

These rifles are set up as National Match type rifles, with free floated barrels, good triggers, etc, etc. Twist is generally 1/8.

If you are a regular 'tin can shooter' save your money. If you are a competitive shooter, go for it.

BTW, these rifles are pretty whippy about what you feed them, so plan on handloading and experimenting with loads.

There's a small amount of truth to someone who said that they shoot most factory ammo WORSE than an issue piece, but shoot handloads like a champ.

You ought to be able to get UNDER 1/2" groups out of them.

Frank White is a well respected smith and has some of his work featured in John Feamster's "Black Magic: The Accurate AR-15"

They are designed primarily for competition, but Frank and Theresa also make rifles for other applications.

If you are looking for accuracy, you won't be disappointed.

So do they make their own rifles or just trick out those of other manufacturers?

Their primary work is rebarreling, free float tubes, sight work, triggerwork, and some of the most accurate dedicated 22 uppers you'll encounter.  I believe they prefer to work on Bushmaster parts, but don't quote me on that.

Outstanding work...did an absolutely excellent job on my wife's CMP Krieger

I believe they do exclusive work for MSTN
on their SPR rifles..

They are up there with the best of the best imo

It sure is cool, and it has a special name too! We call that kind of compass a "clock".
