Employer wants us to "branch out" and get a new cert in something.

I honestly thought they were about to say "think outside the box".

I'm looking at the CompTIA A+ and HIT certs.

Employer will pay for it, no fucking clue why they want it but what the hell.

Better options for general use IT certs?

I took the microsoft windows 7 configuration exam yesterday; the course included alot of information on windows 7 that I did not know.  This was the first class I felt had practical application.  It goes into depth with creating & deploying custom images.

Also, I would look at security+ over A+ on the Comptia side, just my opinion

I don't really want to bust my ass for something I don't really need.

Took the A+ practice test and passed so uh.......I'm thinking that might be the way to go.

This isn't the stupidest thing they've wanted us to do, but it's up there in the top five.

A+/Net+/Sec+ is the core trifecta.
