We just got a new Comcast modem for our internet and telephone. It also sends out a wireless signal which powers our laptop without needing a router.Problem is our Comcast remotes to the t.v. box (Comcast) are not working correctly most likely due to the wireless signal getting sent out by the modem Anyone else have the wireless modem from Comcast having problems like this? Let me know how you corrected it.We have already tried to re-program our remotes but it didn't help.Comcast techs have not run into this problem and offered no help besides sending a tech here. Batteries are fresh, all of them. This began since changing to the new wieless modem. Thx fer any help short of ditching cable and going dish!! |

I've had the triple-play from Comcast for a little over three years with no problems to speak of.
One thing I HAVE noticed is that some techs are definately more on the ball than others. Before we had the triple we had a weak signal to all the sets; pixelating constantly. After three service calls with different techs every time, they finally sent out a Comcast tech (not one of their subs) with the BIG truck who boosted the signal at the curb.Took him maybe 3 minutes to fix the problem. All our remotes work as advertised. |

As others have mentioned the 2 are not even close to allow any type of bleed over. Almost as bad as saying cell phones interfere with com equipment on aircraft. |

So, you can turn off the wireless modem and the tv remotes function correctly? First step in troubleshooting. Remove the last change and see if it fixes the problem. I have zero experience with the TV remotes you are discussing, but your wireless functions on 2.4ghz and 5ghz ranges, so if the remotes are also broadcasting there you can have issues. If the wireless router is the issue, you can get into the setup and change the channel/s it broadcasts on to fix this issue. |

Same as some of the satellite TV boxes use for remote operation. |

I just skimmed through and I thought he mentioned they were IF not RF....If RF this would be fun to troubleshoot but I cannot imagine it still being the problem. I will be watching this thread with interest. Keep us posted OP. |
