I don't know of any ATF opinion regarding this, and as per the "Burden Of Proof" discussion, I would not ask their opinion. The general accepted belief is that making a Collapsing stock so that it no longer collapses makes it a fixed stock and therefore legal.

There is no definition in 18 USC 44 Sec. 921 defining what constitutes a Collapsing Stock. The reason I say don't ask the ATF is because if the can grasp the fartherest, most ridiculous strand, they will declare it illegal and many, many guns will become illegal and their owners Felons.

The BATF hasn't approved any plastic "fixed collapsable stock" that uses a carbine length receiver extension.  And yes, they have rejected a few as submitted by manufacturers, per an ArmaLite post some two or so years old.

the reason I ask is bec the A2 stock is too LONG.  and RRA is taken forever on their LE entry stock (been close to year for some here who have ordered).  I need a solution...  should I?
