Not raw, but cooked and then cooled off in the fridge. It's almost as good as cold pizza!

Reminds me of the first time my MIL served "cold chicken" for dinner. I did not know that people really did this on purpose. I told her we had the time if she wanted to warm it back up before serving it. She (and the rest of the family) just stared at me................I understand leftovers, but as far as my chicken and bacon, warm will be be just fine. |
| It’s not you, it’s her. She’s a batshit crazy hillbilly and so is anybody that would serve a meal of cold chicken. Grab a piece from the fridge to munch on? Sure. Bring a picnic of cold fried chicken to the lake on Independence Day? It doesn’t get much more American. But serve it cold to guests? That’s just a giant “fuck you.” |

That’s just a giant “fuck you.” Their family is from Pittsburgh, a little on the "pinky in the air side" and very well to do. They are very nice, friendly, and likable people however. This is something that is accepted up there as a norm for nice meals (or so they say....) The old lady's of the family (off the boat Italian) are pushing 100 and say that they have served chicken this way since they were very young. I am just a hick from Indiana and had never heard of this before. Much to thier dismay, I did indeed warm mine up in the microwave. To this day, I still bring it up at family gatherings. Anything that is served warm, I ask if they need to put it in the fridge before we eat it. They give me a look, and I chuckle. |
