Huge thanks to esstac for loaning me night vision to score the night runners.
I merely mentioned to Stu that my poorvs14 isn't the best for scoring night runs. Without hesitation, he hands me 40k dollar panos to use for the entire weekend. Tripled my net worth the second I put them on Attached File Attached File |

Thanks for all that showed up to NW5, great to see old friends and meet new ones!
Had no expectations for this year's run, being 8.5 months pregnant I was just happy to be able to do so. Getting 34/50...some of you need to put in some work! Wish I would have cleared pistol, I jinxed myself on that, but other than that happy with my run and can't wait till next year to hopefully redeem myself a bit from last years night run. Massive thank you again to all of our amazing sponsors!
Attached File I'm pretty stoked to have the fastest night run this year. For obstacles/run/peep/AK I used a helmet mounted PVS-14. For handgun I used a Surefire x300V on a CZ 75 SP-01 with a Holosun 507C. For rifle, at 100 yards I used a Holosun LE117, and the TNVC Torch Pro III. Beyond that, I used the torch as an illuminator and used my helmet mounted PVS-14 behind my Nightforce NXS 2.5-10x42 day scope. I timed out on the last 2 targets though. Attached File I was able to down 5 cans this year before ending my run. I 100% need to spend more time shooting at night with this set up and I believe that would have given me the time to take the last 2 targets. I accidentally shut off my PVS-14 a few times from the rifle recoil hitting the shutoff button on the mount. Unfamiliarity cost me time while trying to find the button to be able to reset it. Going forward i'm going to start doing combat class, and may do more night runs as well! |

Quoted: Still worked fine I'd assume. Yeah. I had almost a full mag left after my run so I went down to the range at the end of the morning and fired it off and everything was fine, although it had thawed out by then. The optic was unusable as pictured. The ice on the glass would not easily come off and obscured vision through it but at least it has a QD mount and BUIS. That side was and remains covered with dried mud under the ice, lol. Heading to the range soon for some more shooting before I clean it all up. |

Glad I finally got to make it to snowla.
Had fun, despite performing terribly. Good to see old frens & meet new peeps as always. Congrats to the winners for putting in good work! Also gotta shout out my husband for not only winning the chug off but also doing the best he's done. Funny how things work when you don't bring guns that you don't have zeroed. Planning on coming back next year to hopefully redeem myself. Not entirely sure why I failed so bad on pistol (possibly due to me never zeroing it myself??) but for the 3 targets I missed on rifle, I think elevation might finally click in my 2 lil brain cells. See yall at west in 5.5 weeks if you can make it! Thanks splat & bmsmb for hosting & all the sponsors for allowing me to take a bunch of swag home even tho I don't deserve it. |
