Jesus...It was a voluntary buy-back program.  They're trying to get Hi-Points and other shitty firearms off the streets by offering money to crack heads.

When they tell you on the web site three or four weeks or what ever they are at now, don't believe them. I have writen them many emails with no response, but I have heard from others that have ordered after me that they have gotten theres already. Wish I could just find out what was going on. Don't start trying to mind-fuck me with silly accusations, Nancy Grace.

1. The idea is to get shitty guns off ghetto streets. The kind people in the ghettos typically get "capped" with.  Nobody usually turns in nice guns for these buybacks anyway...they end up with a table full of Tec-9's ($235 new, back in the day), Hi-Points, and SKS's.
As for the guns going back to original owners...

2. Unless something is wrong with you, you should have at least one type of insurance that will cover your guns.

  a. If you're an NRA member, you have insurance on your guns.
  b. If for some reason you're not an NRA member and you're not living in the ghetto yourself, you still probably have either homeowners insurance or renters insurance.

Not true at all.

STG44, rocket launchers, and tons of classic firearms have made their way to these buy backs.

Who me?  If so why don't you go over there and say anything he does't like and see what happens?  Seriously, read his apology thread.  Don't you find it funny that there are no negative comments that are over a few minutes old.  There are 10,000 people surfing this forum at any given time and don't you think a few might be pissed at his dismissal of AR15 members?  He is deleting and banning people including me for doing nothing more than pointing out that he was deleting people.

More importantly though, what is it with you guys.  Every other forum that I have been a member of all the way back to the BBS days has had senior members encouraging new members not putting them down.  I constantly see senior members putting down newbies here.  What is up with that?

If it's that sentimental to you, then you should keep track of it in the first place...lock it up and don't ALLOW it to be stolen.

You guys are acting like these buybacks are the reason your guns get stolen.

A little work to get back to you?  Seriously?  What are they supposed to do, look it up in the national firearms registry?  Oh wait, that's right...we don't have a registry because we don't want one.

This thread is full of some seriously flawed logic, fueled by uninformed/misinformed drama queens.

These buybacks have nothing to do with the leftwing idea of "gun control", and everything to do with getting illegally owned guns off streets.  I'm sure it's hard to appreciate less guns in the hood when you live out in the suburbs and there is no gun violence where you live.

I've seen first-hand what these little ghetto motherfuckers do with stolen guns...they tried to kill my dad with one in his own gun shop, so that they could steal MORE guns.  They totally lost that firefight, by the way.

There is no such thing as an "illegal gun". That is a leftist gun grabber term. There are stolen guns, guns which violate NFA regs, and guns possesed by prohibited persons.

Buy backs are not the reason guns get stolen. Buy backs are inherently dishonest. The state cannot “buy back” privately owned property. Using tax payer money to fund and staff gun buy back programs is a waste of tax payer dollars.

The fallacy which gun buy backs perpetuate is that less guns = less crime. Poor people in low income areas have as much right to firearms as you do.

Your logic is failed.  Since when is the theft vicitm responsible for the theft?  That's exactly what you are saying.  Is my front door being locked good enough, did I ALLOW them to break in to my locked house?   Do criminals have the right to steal everything in my house, just not what's in my gun safe?  Please elaborate the logic that someone breaking into my house is ALLOWING them to steal my property.

As to tracing the gun, how hard would it be to check the serial number that I reported to the police when the gun was stolen?  I'm not for a national gun registry, that is you projecting a viewpoint upon me that I never stated.   Why report the gun stolen and give the police the serial if they aren't going to make any effort to return your property, when the gun was never on paper anywhere to begin with?
