Need to find some good music, some classic country like Gene Autry and Johnny Horton. I just stumbled across this stuff this evening and am hooked.

I just want some western type cowboy music even kiddy stuff is cool like

Home on the Range

and Git along little Doggies.

Please recommend some artists for me!

Hank is the old standby, for good stories it's hard to beat Marty Robbins

Sounds like "Riders in the Sky" might be just what you're looking for. Google them.

Hahah

I thought the samething, but after watching that video of Hupp Vs. Schumer I realized it's doing the exact opposite. Good riddance to the POS here in Chicago, never gonna get another dime from me, gone 03/26/2007. Big fuck you to Daley, hope you enjoy your re-election.

It doesn't get any better than Chet Atkins.

Duane Eddy is a close second...if you like country guitar.

It amazes me that Chet Atkins is never cited in the "guitar hero" threads. The man is a legend.

Junior Brown needs to be mentioned, too. If I quit my job and played 8 hours a day, I still wouldn't be half as good as he is.

For songwriting, I'm going to have to invoke my all time favorite - Kris Kristofferson. Any man who can tell a tale of being fucked in the ass on a suicide mission by saying "The Captain touched his swagger stick up to his golden eye and boogied through the vestibule while bidding us goodbye" is alright be me.
