So, I am playing around with a Catalyst 2900 switch.  I was busy breaking things and did a 'sh ver'  - I noticed this:

cisco (PowerPC403GA) processor (revision 0x11) with 8192K/1024K bytes of memory.
Processor board ID 0x10, with hardware revision 0x03
Last reset from power-on

Notice the 'power pc' line.  Is that the same power PC as in "MAC power PC"?
