A Bronx man on his way to church on Easter Sunday caught a crook allegedly trying to steal his car stereo system — then trapped him inside the vehicle until cops arrived and arrested the man.

Sefton Bennett, 43, said he became overcome with forgiveness while holding shut the door of his Honda Civic and was hopeful police would bring the alleged thief “to church as part of the deal.”

The NYPD identified the suspect as Norberto Rivera, 47, of The Bronx. He has a lengthy rap sheet and was allegedly caught with a syringe and several glassine envelopes of suspected heroin in his jacket pocket.
