I'm going to be honest with you guys I finally bought a pair of Jim Green Barefoot African Ranger shoes after watching this interview. (CC was wearing these boots during SRS interview). To be fair I already had them in my cart. Got them today (with his book) and they are pretty rad. |

I agree that a Christian shouldn't be promoting it. At the same time, SR is deserving of some grace; he's a new Christian (albeit, Catholic) and he/his team either didn't think much of it, OR thought the benefit ($) outweighed the negative impact. Romans 14:13 - "Therefore let us not pass judgment on one another any longer, but rather decide never to put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of a brother." I like that verse for things like this. I bet to most people, Draft Kings is meaningless. Yet to another group, it steals away their productive efforts and ruins their lives. So personally, I'd never read their ad regardless of the pay. |

Where is the Kenyan government in all this? Have they made any statement or offered material support? There once was a time that governments awarded medals and awards for gallantry. Given Craighead's legal troubles with his government, it would be appropriate for Kenya to offer him citenzenship. And, did Kenya learn any lessons? There is discussion about the previous terror attacks as if they are common and well understood. Has Kenya taken measures to prevent future attacks? Are they aware that Craighead's intervention was a once in a lifetime event? Are they training their operators, and their leadership, to respond decisively instead of standing around awaiting permission? I fear that as usual we fail to take the lessons from a significant event. And it's not just limited to foreign governments. Little is done to prepare the US population for the inevitable attacks that will happen here. |
