I am getting one thats 10 weeks old. Male blue.

I have a 7 and 8 year old.

Chows are great dogs, I had 4 of them growing up and never had a problem. The most loving dog I have ever known was a Chow.

My chocolate lab is part chow.

She looks like a lab but has a curly tail and a mostly purple tongue.

She's very protective of our family, she won't bite but she doesn't like strangers in our space.

The greatest dog to ever walk this earth, our Chow/Akita mix.....

She has been a loyal and loving member of our family for a long time now. She is protective but not aggressive. If a stranger walks in the house alone it would be trouble, as long as a family member escorts them she is as gentle as a lamb. Awesome personality and a real sweetheart.

That was my Bear. I still miss her. I'd give up sweet tea, swimming, kayaking & two of my best rifles to have her back.

She died a few years back. She was getting old & one morning she wouldn't come out from under the porch. She let out a very painful sound & died. Still can hear it.

She was a Chow/Lab mix. Never bit anyone but she was a good barker whenever strangers came down our driveway. Hard to find another like her.

There was one in a town in montana that i lived in.
That dog hated kids with a passion. The owner finally had to put it down.

Why? Are you allergic to them?

It's been my experience that dogs are proof there is a god & he loves us. I have more photo's as evidence.

BTW, The chocolate lab on the left is Earlene whom I got in exchange for a go-kart.

You guys must be lucky, all the Chows I have ever met were only fit to test the expansion of hollow point bullets.

The full blooded Chows I've been around have all been mean as hell, but my chow/lab mix is one of the best dogs I've ever had.

I have a Chow German Shepherd mix. He has the markings of a Shepherd and the build of a shepherd, but the size and tail of a chow.

He is a good dog, but has to be secured if strangers are around, as he will bite them. My oldest son has been nipped by him a couple times, but only because he was screwing with the dog and deserved to be bit.

My baby girl.

Found as a stray when she was around 5. She's 12 now, and after she's gone... I'll never have another.

Best. Dog. Ever.

Chow mix I know have been great dogs.

Very good gaurd dog originally for bear hunting.

Pure breads can be good but they can be a challenge when other people come into their home/yard. Tend to be one person dogs and territorial.

I have a friend who has three pure breads and I do not go into their yard without the owner.
